Commitment and Something New - VIDEO

A business mentor of mine once taught me that breakfast is a great example of commitment versus involvement. Chickens are involved (eggs), but pigs are commited (bacon, ham). What they have on the line (the infamous "skin in the game", can someone look up the origin of that phrase?) always struck me as a great bench mark of what to expect from people.

In the following clip, Graeme demonstrates that lunchtime too can be a great time to demonstrate commitment. Particularly if you a committed to taking a nap.

This my first shot at adding video, so someone comment and let me know if it works.

NOTE: Tiffany is not insane she is talking to the other child who is very awake.

Your video works fine.

It is good to see he is learning skills that will be important to his future in college... once he can keep his head still and his eyes open he is ready.

"Skin in the game" seems to be erroneously attributed to Warren Buffett or Ross Perot. William Safire corrects that error by showing a usage in 1912: On Language: Skin in the Game. But he doesn't show a better origin other than tracing some of the money/work/value-related meanings of "skin". Here is another review of the phrase: On "Skin in the Game" and Other Corporate Jargon. (This same author has an interesting post on Top Ten Wrongheaded Clichés that I liked. Read it!)

Also, the video worked for me, except on Firefox 3 on the Mac. But that's Blogger's fault not yours.

Sean,

You did a great job on the video. Obviously Graeme is a VERY sound sleeper. I was afraid he was going to fall off of his chair. Poor baby looked worn out!

Did he take a long nap after Tiffany cleaned him up?

You once told me years ago that you wanted to take creative writing. You don't need to do so...you're already VERY creative!!!

Since Tiffany doesn't seem to be able to find time to write, PLEASE keep up the good work. I love to read your postings.
